Books I love: Moonshadow by Thea Harrison

It’s been a week since A Stone-Kissed Sea came out! Time to talk about new books, right? Right. So when one of your favorite authors emails you and asks if you’d possibly have time to read and blurb her new book, and you’re like “okay, that’s cool, I’d be happy to do that” but inside you’re basically via GIPHY Yeah. Totally me when Thea Harrison asked me to read Moonshadow, her newest book and the first in a new series. So here is my OFFICIAL blurb for the book: “Thrilling and deliciously sexy, Moonshadow is a smart, action-packed introduction to a new adventure in Harrison’s complex and compelling Elder Races world. Intrigue goes hand-in-hand with an addictive romance that will please new and established readers alike. I can’t wait to see what comes next.” And my unofficial one is: GAH! This is so good, you guys! She totally set the […]

Book review: Nalini Singh’s Slave to Sensation and the Psy-Changling series

(I am trying to post more reviews for books I read and love. This is a new review for an old favorite, the most recent book in the series, Allegiance of Honor, just came out the beginning of the summer!) It’s somewhat mind-boggling to me that I have not reviewed this series before because this is one of my all time favorites. So this review is WAY overdue. I’ll review this book and then give you a brief overview of my view on the series, which is something like fourteen books now and I’m still not bored. Fourteen books. Still not bored. Yes, you read that correctly. First off, like other reviewers have said, ignore the cheesy US cover. (Unless you can see the updates one, which is oh-so-much better!) The original makes this book look like a typical paranormal romance (not that I don’t love those) but this book is so […]

First peek at THE SINGER: Irin Chronicles Book Two

All right, it’s what you’ve all been waiting for. Your first look at the next book in the Irin Chronicles: THE SINGER. Click through to read the full teaser. I’ve also posted the prologue to the book, which was at the end of THE SCRIBE. Enjoy! ~~~ Ava was still sleeping when the car came to a stop. She clenched her eyes shut, holding onto the safety of silence for as long as she could. “Ava.” Damien knew she was awake. The man had preternatural senses that never switched off. Ava had decided he was like a weird combination of the most over-protective dad and big brother in history. Which, being the only child of a mother who saw her more as a peer than a child, was a new and interesting experience. She snuggled into the down filled jacket under her cheek and ignored him. “Open your eyes. I […]

Bloggity, Blog, Blog, Blog (I’m moving!)

So, what am I doing lately? I didn’t, in fact, die of the plague over the weekend. Despite my initial worry, it was just a cold. Suffice to say, I’m a little melodramatic and I hate being sick. I don’t get sick very often, so I’m a big baby when I do. Luckily, I survived, and SmallBoy is excellent at putting up with mom when she’s sick. More news: I bought a house! This is very exciting for a number of reasons. As many of you know, my ex and I separated last year around the time The Force of Wind came out, which meant a move and a lot of other changes for all of us. Lots of changes and things were a bit edgy for a while, but we’re good. And honestly, I thought I was going to be a long ways off from buying a house on […]

Cover Reveal: THE SCRIBE: Irin Chronicles Book One

And I’ll put preorder links up as soon as I get those sorted out! Enjoy! SYNOPSIS: Hidden at the crossroads of the world, an ancient race battles to protect humanity, even as it dies from within. Ava Matheson came to Istanbul looking for answers, but others came looking for her. A reckless warrior guards her steps, but will Malachi’s own past blind him to the truth of who Ava might be? While ancient forces gather around them, both Ava and Malachi search for answers. Whispering voices. Deadly touch. Their passion should be impossible… or it could be the only thing that will keep them alive. THE SCRIBE is the first book in the Irin Chronicles, the new paranormal romance series […]

Saying goodbye to Turkey and another teaser from THE SCRIBE

Well, it’s almost over. I leave Turkey tomorrow, headed back to the United States and saying goodbye to this wonderful country. This has truly been an amazing experience, following the paths of my characters in ways that many writers only dream about. When I was young, I traveled the world by books. I read voraciously,  enamored by the settings and history that I read through the pages of mysteries and historical fiction. Action, romance, adventure, fantasy. It was the most accessible way for me to travel as a child. The fact that I’m able to travel like this–and then share those journeys through my books–is really a dream come true. Thank you for all your support. Thanks for being the readers who support my writing so I can take trips like this. This book and series has really come alive for me, and I hope you are as excited as […]
