Happy Saturday, everyone! I’m shooting off a quick blog post before my VERY BUSY WEEK this coming week. What’s on the agenda? Family reunion Grandmother’s memorial THE SILENT book release Getting TallBoy ready for Boy Scout camp More writing on the new book if at all possible I’m tired and the week hasn’t even started. blinkblink via GIPHY SO, let’s check a few things off, shall we? First off, I am very excited to announce that I’ll be joining a holiday anthology this year with three amazing authors (all of whose work I recommend) Thea Harrison, Grace Draven, and Jeffe Kennedy. The title of the anthology is… Up for debate. This is what happens when grammar nerds rumble, my friends. See, the original title was “Amid the Winter’s Snow” which is great, right? So we started with the cover, Grace and I collaborating, and I mocked up the copy for […]

Herbs, pink salts, and flower petals turned the bathroom into something far closer to one of the fancy spas that he’d seen in Chiang Mai. “This is wonderful.” Leo […]

Books I love: Moonshadow by Thea Harrison

It’s been a week since A Stone-Kissed Sea came out! Time to talk about new books, right? Right. So when one of your favorite authors emails you and asks if you’d possibly have time to read and blurb her new book, and you’re like “okay, that’s cool, I’d be happy to do that” but inside you’re basically via GIPHY Yeah. Totally me when Thea Harrison asked me to read Moonshadow, her newest book and the first in a new series. So here is my OFFICIAL blurb for the book: “Thrilling and deliciously sexy, Moonshadow is a smart, action-packed introduction to a new adventure in Harrison’s complex and compelling Elder Races world. Intrigue goes hand-in-hand with an addictive romance that will please new and established readers alike. I can’t wait to see what comes next.” And my unofficial one is: GAH! This is so good, you guys! She totally set the […]

The looming asteroid has been called off. For now.

Wanted to post a quick update about what’s been going on in the last week. Most of you probably caught from my blatant and somewhat overwhelming self promotion… That The Staff and the Blade is now available for pre-order! Wait, you didn’t get that? Too much? But really, promotion makes me itch. It’s a necessary evil, but it’s not something I can ever see myself enjoying much. Mostly, this week, I’ve been writing. And boy! Has that felt nice. I mean, slightly mental… But nice. That’s my desk up there. ^^^Actually, that’s a picture of my dining room table because the madness outgrew the desk, so I had to move to the dining room table. (The toilet paper is because I ran out of Kleenex.) As you can see, planning and plotting this book has been complicated. Actually, my editor and I decided that this book is really more like a […]

Release Day Round-up: Beneath a Waning Moon

It’s here!!! Two delightfully dark tales of Gothic romance from Elizabeth Hunter and Grace Draven. BENEATH A WANING MOON In A VERY PROPER MONSTER, Josephine Shaw spends long nights filling the pages of her Gothic stories with the fantastic and the macabre, unaware that the suitor her father has arranged is one of the dark creatures she’s always dreamed. For Tom Dargin, courting an ailing spinster was only one duty in a long life of service to his sire. But after he meets the curious Miss Shaw, will Tom become the seducer or the seduced? Can a love fated to end in tragedy survive a looming grave? In GASLIGHT HADES, Nathaniel Gordon walks two worlds—that of the living and the dead. Barely human, he’s earned the reputation of a Bonekeeper, the scourge of grave robbers. He believes his old life over, until one dreary burial he meets the woman he […]

ONE DAY MORE! (Beneath a Waning Moon releases tomorrow.)

ONE DAY MOOOOOOORE! Why am I getting my Les Mis on, you might ask? Because NEW STUFF is happening tomorrow! Grace Draven is a great friend and also a fantabulous author. I love her books, and we collaborated on a holiday collection last year, All the Stars Look Down. (Which is not to say we co-write. We’re both far too controlling and pig-headed for that.) But we had a great time putting the holiday stories together, so when she called me about doing another duo for Halloween… Grace: What do you think about putting out some Halloween novellas like we did with All the Stars for Christmas? (Please note: This is greatly paraphrased. I don’t really have that good a memory and this was months ago. Also, I’m a writer. I tend to just make things up when I don’t remember exactly.) Me: YES! That sounds so fun! Grace: I have this uber-cool […]
