Welcome to Cambio Springs! Population? Well, you could say that it… varies.

In this small desert town, secrets bubble up from the desert floor, and history is written on the canyon walls. Seven friends will gather at the crossroads, because in Cambio Springs, everything—and everyone—changes.

In a town populated by shape shifters, tradition and loyalty hold the community together, but when change comes from the outside, secrets are revealed, friendship is tested, and more than a few claws come out.

Cambio Springs is the new paranormal romance series from the author of the best-selling Elemental Mysteries series, Elizabeth Hunter.

1. But I don’t like shapeshifters.

Um, that’s… not really a question.

2. Am I going to like this if I liked the Elemental series? Because I don’t like shapeshifters.

Oh! Okay, well, you might like it. And you might not. Which is okay. You don’t have to like ALL my books for me to love you. (BUT YOU DO HAVE TO LIKE SOMETHING! Kidding. Kinda.) Seriously, though, not everything is for everyone. I won’t be offended.

You also might ask yourself if you liked vampires before you read the Elemental series, because if you didn’t… then you never know. You might like my shapeshifters, even if you haven’t liked some others in books you’ve read. (Because, clearly, I am a special snowflake.) Some of the aspects you might have loved about the Elemental series, like the humor and mystery and family themes, are in Cambio Springs, too. Plus, there are lots of interesting men and women falling in love in complicated ways and solving murders! So that’s always fun.

3. Why did you decide to write about shapeshifters?

I really love Native American mythology and there are shapeshifter myths all over! So that’s a very fun history to explore. Plus, after the international intrigue of the Elemental world, I really wanted to write something closer to home and more familiar. Cause, you know, that hawk that hangs out in my trees is probably a shapeshifter. Or just really suspicious of my dogs. One of the two.

4. Is the Cambio series structured like the Elemental and Irin series?

No. The Cambio Springs series is a much more traditional paranormal romance series in that all the books are self-contained and can stand alone. Each book features the love story of one couple, so you can read them independent of the others, though it is a series, so there are some similar themes running through. It’s nice to try different things and writing Cambio really stretched me creatively.

5. How many will there be?

I have five outlined right now, but I could expand if I felt like there were more stories to tell. But again, each book is a stand-alone, so you’re not going to be left hanging in any story.

  1. Elizabeth, love the synopsis and the font. Not sure about the bottom part of the cover. Clearer image of the girl might look more appealing to the reader. But then again I don\’t know if this was the best that could be done after combining the images. I\’m not a pro 🙂

  3. Elizabeth,

I do not normally go fangirl, but your writing astounds me. I briefly pursued an MFA in fiction writing so I fully understand the artistry that goes into every sentence you craft.

I have read every series that anyone can think of in this genre and I simply have to tell you that I think you´re one of the greats, at least as determined by talent and skill alone. Like Karen Marie Moning, you literally pay attention to every single word in every single sentence in a gigantic novel, and that’s damn remarkable.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all of your novels and short stories. You are an inspiration.

  4. I absolutly love this book along with all the others! I cant wait for the new ones to come out!! I love to read and I have read alot of books but you are my favorite author!

  5. I’ve not read the book as yet, but I do have a comment. I looked on Amazon to purchase and it stated that the book was 3 pages long for 4.99. That’s got to be a miss print. I really enjoyed the other books in this series and also the Elemental” books and looking forward to this newest offering. ~P~ P.S. love the artwork on the side panels of this page

  6. Just finished Allie and Ollie. I loved all the books from Cambio Spring. When will the story for Sean be available? I cant wait!!!

  8. I’ve read all of the elemental and cambio springs series. Can you give us an idea when the next book in either of these series will be available?

    • I’m scheduled to write one in each later this year. Currently working on the Irin series, then it will be Elemental, then Cambio.

  9. I’m looking forward to the next Cambio Springs novel as much as I am the next Irin Chronicle and Elemental novel. Somethimes I cannot grasp that you can come up with all these stories and such long story arcs. It’s nothing short of mavelous! Thanks for th ereading pleasure.

  10. When will book 4, Cambio Springs be released? Your books are great – wonderfully imaginative.

    • I don’t have a date because I haven’t written it yet! I’m working on the next Elemental World book at the moment. 🙂
