5 must read paranormal books

Book Recommendations: 5 Books to Feed Your Paranormal Need

If you are looking for a good paranormal read check out these that I recommend.

The Scarlet Deep by Elizabeth Hunter

Pairings in vampire fiction almost always have a human/vampire, vampire/shifter, vampire/witch, etc. Even in my own books! It’s kind of rare to explore a romance between two beings of equal power, which is one of the things I love about The Scarlet Deep. That, and Murphy is just smoking hot.

Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor

Is it urban fantasy? High fantasy? Magical realism? All these things together? I don’t know how you classify this book, but I loved it. I don’t read much YA, but this series is stunning, sophisticated, and beautifully drawn. Stellar and unique world-building.

Burn for Me by Ilona Andrews

I am a huge Kate Daniels fan, but I was nervous about this new world by the Andrews team until I read the first book. It’s awesome. Fast-paced and complex. It’s a great alternate history and has such a cool magical system.

Key of Light by Nora Roberts

A classic for a reason! I love Nora Roberts so much, and readers sometimes forget how wonderful her fantasy and paranormal writing is. This is the first book in the Key Trilogy, and one of my favorites.

Bite Me by Shelly Laurenston

Hilarious. I bust a gut laughing at all of Laurenston’s books, and this one featuring a badger shifter may be my favorite to date. The heroine is unapologetically grumpy, but she’s also fiercely loyal, smart, and funny. The bear/tiger hybrid shifter (just go with it) is equally anti-social, very hot, and a huge geek too. Check any sense of propriety at the door and just sit back and enjoy.
