Book Recommendations: Anticipated Summer Reads

2017 books to read

If you have wondered what books I am waiting in anticipation for, then you are in luck. Here are some of the books I can’t wait to read this summer.

The Silent by Elizabeth HunterThe Silent by Elizabeth Hunter (July 28th)

After the huge project that was The Staff and the Blade, I’m excited to give readers Leo and Kyra’s story, which is the next new book in the expanded Irin Chronicles.Set against a continuingly evolving world, Leo and Kyra have one of the most romantic relationships I’ve ever written. And one of the steamiest!

Silver Silence by  Nalini Singh (June 13th)

The first arc of the Psy-Changling series may have come to an end, but Singh proves this series still has a lot more stories to tell in Silver Silence. I received an ARC of SS for review, and I am thrilled to tell readers that I’m just as enthralled with this world now as I was at the beginning. This book is also a great place for new readers to jump into the series, if they’re not familiar with it.

White Hot/Wildfire by Ilona Andrews (May 30th / July 25th)

Fans of the Hidden Legacy series have been waiting for a long time for the sequel to Burn for Me. We’re getting a double punch this year with White Hot in May and Wildfire in July! I’m dying to see where the Andrews team takes Nevada and Rogan in this series. Their banter is epic and their chemistry is combustible. (<-See what I did there?)

Fury of a Phoenix by Shannon Mayer (July 11th)

New series from Shannon Mayer!!! I’m nuts over this cover and the premise of a retired assassin taking vengeance after the loss of her family sounds like something I’m going to eat up. Mayer is such a pro at drawing readers into her worlds, so I’m excited about seeing where she takes this character.

A Plague of Giants by Kevin Hearne (Oct 17th)

Who needs a big juicy high fantasy read for the fall? THIS GIRL. While this isn’t a summer release, it’s something I’ve already preordered for October. I love Hearne’s urban fantasy series, the Iron Druid Chronicles, so I’m really excited to see what he does with high fantasy. At over six hundred pages for the hardcover, this looks like something I’ll be able to sink into.
