Merry almost Christmas!

I am getting all my work done early today so that I can get ready for our extended family Christmas at my house. All the grandmas, grandpas, cousins, aunties and uncles will be descending on me later, so I’m posting this chapter before I forget!

Probably, your kids are out of school now (if you have them) and it’s starting to feel like the holidays aren’t just here, they’re looming. Try to take time to enjoy and not just stress. Have a snowball fight (if you have snow). Sing a silly carol and bake cookies with kids or friends. Go dancing. Drink some hot apple cider or a great bottle of wine with friends or family while you hide all your phones and just talk. Debate something without using Google to settle the argument. It’s good for the soul.

And read a good book! Or a fun chapter like the next one of Imitation and Alchemy.

And don’t forget to check out Nocturnal Book Reviews tomorrow for the reveal of the secret project I’ve been working on for the holidays! It will all be up and on NBR tomorrow to celebrate Karina’s “Christmas with…” series.

From Imitation and Alchemy

Ben started to move her to the music again. The wine must have been wearing off because his movements were just a little tighter; his feet a little faster.

“Where did you learn how to dance?”

“Caspar insisted,” Ben said, spinning her around with ease. “Told me I’d thank him some day.”

“And have you?”

“Many times. Girls love a good dancer.”

“So, are you finally relaxed?”

“That depends.” He pulled her to his chest and tipped her chin up. “Are you going to introduce me to your forger?”

Tenzin smiled. “I knew you’d figure it out.”

  1. Thank you so much for the Christmas surprise, it’s lovely. I didn’t think I’d ever love a book couple more than Gio ( who wouldn’t adore Gio??) and Beatrice, but Ava and Malachi have done it. Loving Imitation and Alchemy too, though bad ‘net connections are making it hard to keep up. Can’t wait to buy it completed. Any chance you’d ever put together a compendium of all your short stories? Season’s Greetings and all the best for New Year.
