Between the RT Convention in Dallas, my son’s last week of school, a trip to New York with said son, and completing the landscaping for my backyard before it gets super-super-hot, I’ve been running in circles for the past month or so.
Sorry. (To be fair, I have been updating social media, especially Instagram, so if you like following along on my travels and seeing pictures of food, my dogs, and occasionally me and my kid that’s a good place to keep up with me.)
What’s going on with me and writing? Well, The Scarlet Deep is at the editor right now, and everything is on schedule for its release on July 7th. Feedback from my developmental editor and beta readers has been great so far, and I’m very excited for you guys to get your hot little hands on it. It’s available for preorder all over the place. I really love this book, so I hope you do, too.
As for what I’ll be doing while the editors are working their magic, my son is leaving this week to visit his dad for a month or so (boy time!) so I’ll be working my not-so-little tush off putting all the promotional stuff together for The Scarlet Deep, and then I’ll be starting a novella that’s set in the Elemental World, but historical! Which I’m both excited and intimidated by. That novella is going to be released with one from Grace Draven in a collection we’re doing for Halloween.
After that, I’ll be working on the next Cambio Springs book. I can already hear Ollie beginning to grumble at me, so I think I’ll be more than ready to get back out to the desert this summer. I’ll get it all done. Probably.
Since the new book releases in just a MONTH, I’d like to do an ARC giveaway here on the blog! So leave a comment on this post before Thursday, and you’ll be entered to win one of three Advanced Reading Copies (e-book) of The Scarlet Deep. I’ll update the blog on Friday and let you know who won!
I’ll also be sending out a VIP Newsletter tomorrow featuring a deleted scene from The Scarlet Deep with Anne, Brigid, and Gemma. It’s a cute scene, but it didn’t really serve a purpose in the book. It might, however, give you a fun peek at three of the Elemental heroines you’ll be seeing a lot of in the new book. And… I think that’s it! Here, have one more corgi gif on me.
Stay cool and thanks for reading! (And waiting so patiently.) Elizabeth
UPDATE: I feel like I need to clarify that these are not my corgis. I have a lab and a standard poodle. I was simply inspired by the fact that I really love corgis, and my friend Killian got one not too long ago.
Though I kinda wish I had a corgi. (Don’t tell my dogs.)
