For those of you still reading online, the epilogue to The Bronze Blade has now posted. I will be keeping the story up on the website through the end of the month, then I’ll take it down and it will be available for sale only. Thank you for taking this journey with me. As many reviewers have noted (and Tenzin did warn you from the beginning) this is not a nice story. I debated releasing it at all, but in the end, I’m glad I did. It’s too easy, at times, to enjoy the surface of a character without recognizing the sacrifice it took to make them the person they are. I think this happens in life, too. We often focus on the surface without looking deeper. Never forget, everyone has a story.
For Tenzin, that story started in a very dark place. But Tenzin has lived a long time, and we’re nowhere near her end. Many readers have asked me if I will publish more about her past, and it’s possible that I might. But Tenzin is also a character who very much lives in the present. So going forward, I do think that her future is what I’ll be more focused on. Part of that future I’ll be researching this summer in China. (And no, I’m still can’t give you a timetable for the books I’ll be writing featuring her and Ben as main characters.) I may write a short story here or there about things that have happened in the past, but I can’t make any promises.
I’ll be backing away from blogging and other social media stuff for a while unless I have an important announcement, but I’d rather focus on revisions and editing for THE SINGER in the next month. So, if you don’t see me around much, that will be why. I’ve got a lot going on in my life personally and professionally right now, so writing/editing time is both scarce and valuable. Wish me luck!
Have a wonderful week, everyone!
