First ever reader meet up: Houston, TX October 26th

Black-Labrador-Houston-Midtown_135015I am very pleased to announce that our first ever author/reader meet-up will be on Saturday, October 26th from 3-5pm at the Black Labrador pub in Houston, Texas!

What’s a meet-up, and is it like a signing? Well, my intention for this get-together is just be be able to get to know readers in a more casual way than a formal signing. I won’t be selling books there (though I think I may bring some paperbacks to do a drawing or two), but if you want to bring your paperbacks or kindle covers or whatever, of COURSE I’d be happy to sign them!

Mostly, we’re just going to be hanging out and chatting. Having a drink with the awesome people who do me the honor of reading my books. I imagine some of my college friends will be there, and if you buy them a drink, I’m fairly positive embarrassing stories will be told. All in all, I just want this to be a fun, relaxing time for everyone.

I have absolutely no idea how many people will come! Hopefully, enough to make it fun for you guys. We’ll be at a pub, so people can order food and drinks. (I highly recommend the Bubble and Squeak at the Black Lab, which was one of my hang-outs when I was in college.) We’ll be in the Churchill room downstairs, so I think there’ll be plenty of room for everyone who wants to come.

Come for a drink. Come to hang out. Or, if you just want me to sign your book before you have to rush off, that’s cool, too!

4100 Montrose Blvd.
Houston, TX

We’ll be there from 3-5 o’clock. Come. Hang out. Chat with other book people or watch antics from the corner. There will be no name tags.

If you think you can make it, PLEASE DO leave a comment here, so I can get a rough idea of how many people might be there. And many thanks to my awesome friend, Liza, for being my local connection and setting this up.

See you in Houston!

  1. I’d love to try and come, but I don’t know if I can or not. I usually don’t know these things until about a week before. That’s the same weekend as my Dad’s birthday, so I’ll have to see.

  2. I am definitely going to try to make it at least for a few minutes! So for now, I intend on showing up hut sometimes things come up.

  3. I would love to come but unfortunately I live in Stoke on Trent in England and it’s a little too far to travel for an evening in a pub BUT have fun everyone who can get there. I’ll look forward to hearing about it.

  4. Excellent news! I’m really looking forward to meeting you. Hmmm, a pub? I wonder if there will be other husbands/significant others in tow because it’s entirely possible mine will want to come along for a pint and pub fare. šŸ™‚

      • Can’t make it to the reading on Thursday šŸ™ but I am still planning on the Saturday afternoon reader meet up! Yay! Just finished Blood and Sand (excellent — loved it!) and am desperate to read The Scribe before Saturday — don’t want any spoilers to ruin my enjoyment of your latest book.

  5. Hi Elizabeth: so glad you are on the road signing! Now you need to check out Florida! Like Orlando (which is 1 1/2 hour from me) or Daytona BEACH! (which is 25 miles from me) Would love to shake YOUR HAND. I have the books on kindle so it would really be hard to get you to sign it! šŸ™ šŸ™‚ that’s 1 thing I don’t like about kindle and there are some others. Great luck to you LOVE the series! Susan

  6. I have to work that day, but I’m still going to try & stop by! I really want to get a book signed for my mother-in-law! Looking forward to meeting you!

  7. Just found out that I can, without a doubt, be there! I cannot wait. I was supposed to go to a book signing in ATX this weekend, but kind of had to choose which I’d rather go to. I’m so glad it’s you that I’m getting to meet :)))
