Writing update: Midsummer Madness

I’ve been writing up a storm lately! (No, really, there was a fairly dramatic, kinda supernatural storm in one chapter of my new book this past weekend. Pretty exciting.)

So what new book? And when is the contemporary art romance going to be published anyway?

Well, I’ve completed the first draft of the art romance (which I still can’t decide on a title for) and I’m now reworking that timeline to make it the best book it can be. I’ll be honest, it’s a lot more fun creating the story than editing it, but since I do NOT have the money for freelance editor, and I want to put out the best book I can, I am relying on my truly excellent beta readers. They will be paid in apricot jam, homemade limoncello, and free lodging in Southern California any time they so desire. (Thanks, girls!) I’m still planning a fall release, though, so I’ll keep you posted.

Work on my paranormal mystery, A Hidden Fire, is flying, folks. I posted a teaser for it a few weeks ago, and I’ll be posting more in the months to come, but I’m really excited about this book, and I hope all of you will be, too. It’s a mystery with a lot of intrigue, some action, and maybe just a hint of romance, as well. I’ve finished twenty-one of the twenty-five chapters planned, and I’m pretty pleased with how it’s shaping up.

So that’s what I’ve been up to in my original work. I’ve also been working on some short stories, one of which, Mary Finlay’s Shoes, I posted last week. If you’ve already read and reviewed, thank you! I love hearing from you.

Hope your summer is going well! Drop me a comment and let me know what you’re excited to be reading, writing, or seeing this season!

Thanks for reading,
